Specialist Shih-Bin Lin from the Hydraulics Division of the Public Works Department, Taipei City Government has been selected by the Committee of 2012 Outstanding Public Servant Study Abroad Program of Taipei City Government to join the further education program in the Netherlands.
In order to nurture talents with a global vision, on the 25th of June, 2010 the City Government set forth the “Implementation Guidelines for Outstanding Public Servant Study Abroad” to provide a planned nurturing program for those outstanding public servants with potential for development, to further their studies abroad, during which period the elected public servants will keep their respective job position and salary, plus a subsidy from the Government.
Specialist Shih-Bin Lin from the Hydraulics Division of the Public Works Department, Taipei City Government has been selected in 2012 by the Taipei City Government to study for a master’s degree abroad, and will head to Amsterdam in the Netherlands in September 2012 to enter the master’s course in Environment and Resource Management, majoring in climatic change and water policy, at the VU University Amsterdam. Specialist Lin’s overseas study not only confirms that the Government has attached great importance to, and affirms, the works of the Department, but also demonstrates the importance that the Department places on the training of its staff and maintaining the vibrant energy and vitality of the Department. We hope that by studying abroad, Specialist Lin will learn from the experience of an advanced country, and then return home to contribute the learned abilities to his country, making positive efforts in regard to municipal construction and public service.
